Description: A perennial bunchgrass found in tallgrass prairies. Natural to most of Canada & the USA. Employs the C₄ photosynthetic pathway. Larval host to a number of butterflies.

Sun Exposure & Soil: Full Sun, well-drained soil.

Height: 2ft to 3ft.

Bloom Colour & Timing: Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Purple. August thru October.
